The DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (Chairman of Organizing Committee: LEE Jaemyeong, Festival Director: JUNG Sangjin) releases their new logo and official poster for their 13th year.

The DMZ International Documentary Film Festival continues its identity as a documentary film festival by introducing main posters using works of Korean documentary photographers every year. Noh Suntag's work, which acutely captures the different aspects of our society in the realities of a divided nation, was chosen as this year's main poster image.

The image used in the poster, "Baek Gi-Wan's Fist," is a picture of Baek Gi-Wan's tightly-clenched fists. He was a social activist who fought for minorities and the weak, passed away in February this year. The poster reflects his spirit and is a pledge by the DMZ International Documentary Festival to create an accurate picture of our society through documentaries with our audiences and filmmakers.

Along with the main poster, a new logo and graphic poster of the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival is revealed. The logo uses newly-developed typography for the audience to immediately recognize that they are looking at the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival brand. Whilst maintaining the blue color that symbolizes peace, communication and life, the symbol also reflects on the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival's willingness to reach wider audiences through imagery. The work was created by 'ThE WORX,' a design studio that has years of experience in various projects across different fields related to culture and art under its belt, including Seoul Fashion Week.

Jung Sang-jin, the festival director of the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival, stated, "We are speeding up the preparations for the festival in coming September along with the release of the main poster … we are also preparing various programs that would actively utilize on and offline platforms in the post-COVID era, so we ask the audience to continue showing their interest."

The 13th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival will be held in Goyang and Paju City, Gyeonggi Province, for 8 days between 9th-16th September 2021. DMZ Industry, an industry program, will run alongside the festival for 4 days between 13th-16th September 2021.
